Solace Harbor is an orbital survival port designed for Biosolace or Solace Seed to dock and receive energy, repairs, diagnostics, supplies, and replacement survival habitats. It is a neutral infrastructure intended to help Exodists maintain continuity of survival. It would be used mainly during the CB stage.
The main reasons for having this facility are as follows.
1. Biosolace Maintenance — Damaged modules of an existing Biosolace can be replaced or upgraded. It may also provide faster energy replenishment and higher-quality inspections than the Biosolace can perform using its own systems.
2. Receiving Supplies — An Exodist can receive large quantities of materials that would be difficult or impractical to deliver directly through space.
3. Receiving a New Biosolace After the Destruction of the Previous One — Biosolace should itself be a home capable of sustaining the Exodist for an extremely long time. Even so, we cannot completely rule out the possibility that it may fail for some unforeseen reason, or that the materials needed for maintenance may fail to arrive in time. Considering the radius of a CB orbit, reaching a planet where energy or various supplies can be obtained may take a considerable amount of time. For this reason, Solace Harbors may need to be distributed across multiple locations.
If a Biosolace is destroyed for such reasons somewhere along its orbit or in interplanetary or interstellar space, a new Biosolace may be provided through a Solace Harbor.
4. Tracing the Cause of Biosolace Failure — Solace Harbor also serves as an intermediate point for collecting information about why a Biosolace was damaged or destroyed. That information can then be used to build more reliable Biosolaces and provide Exodists with a more stable life.

The operation of Solace Harbor must not be monopolized by a particular corporation or a single nation. Because it is survival infrastructure, there must be safeguards against its degeneration into a subscription model, monopoly pricing, arbitrary denial of access, demands for political loyalty, or a means of surveillance. Fairness and accessibility should be guaranteed under the management of a supranational body, such as an international organization. Solace Harbor must not be capable of monitoring the Exodist's virtual reality experiences, conversations with AI, daily routines, or emotional state inside each Biosolace. It should process only the minimum external signals required for survival and navigation, such as docking information, collision risks, biological emergencies, energy depletion, and distress calls. If this principle collapses, Solace Harbor will cease to be a harbor and become a watchtower.
And, obviously, Solace Harbor must not become a place where Exodists are encouraged to feel a sense of belonging. An Exodist stays only as long as necessary, receives the supplies and maintenance they need, and leaves again. It is simply a facility intended to make the Exodist's long-term life easier to sustain. Unauthorized peddlers and flatterers who enter the Harbor to whisper persuasive words, rekindle attachment to the old world, or boast that some new technology could make the Exodist “rich” again “in conventional society” should be kept out entirely.
Of course, an Exodist is unlikely to fall naively for that kind of sweet talk in the first place. Exodists aim to live alone with only as much technology as they need for survival. Still, they probably would not enjoy seeing people behave like that inside Solace Harbor.
An Exodist Needs a Gas Station? You Mean They Have to Accept the Possibility of Staying Somewhere Other Than Biosolace Just to Keep Living? Isn't That Too Much of a Compromise?
Of course.
The same is already true of CB.
A CB Exodist needs a road called an orbit. A Biosolace traveling along an orbit is, in a sense, still staying on that orbit.
Isn't it?
Different people will have different standards for when technology has become sufficient. Someone may transition directly to VB as soon as Biosolace becomes possible, without ever going through CB.
If technology develops to the point where advanced scientific predictions can establish with near-total confidence that I could live inside a Biosolace for more than a million years, some people may choose to leave at that point.
Others may continue enjoying CB life until the Solar System becomes extremely dangerous, whether for natural or artificial reasons.
Solace Harbor is a piece of public infrastructure that supports the pragmatic side of Entropy Exodus.
It does weaken the non-dependence at the heart of Entropy Exodus to some extent. But ideals can sometimes turn into something almost religious, and that is exactly why practical safeguards may be necessary.
An Exodist may exist alone in space, but that solitude does not have to mean abandonment or death.
Solace Harbor is a harbor built precisely on that boundary.
